FAQ
A 30–36-inch table usually works well for two people. For four, choose 36–42 inches for a compact setup or 42–48 inches for more comfortable everyday dining. For six, look for 54–60 inches, depending on the chair width and base design.
Before ordering, allow at least 36 inches between the table edge and nearby walls or furniture so chairs can pull out and guests can move around comfortably.
A round table often works well in square rooms, breakfast areas, and open corners because it has no projecting corners and is easier to walk around. It also creates a relaxed setting where everyone faces the center.
For a long, narrow room, however, an oval or rectangular dining table may fit the layout better.
Compact, armless chairs are usually the easiest to arrange around a round table. For a standard dining table, look for chairs approximately 18–20 inches wide with a 17–19-inch seat height.
Aim for 10–12 inches of space between the seat and tabletop. For armchairs, check the arm height, table apron, and base position to make sure the chairs can slide underneath.
For six adults, a 54–60-inch round table usually provides the most comfortable dining space. A 48–54-inch table may also seat six with slim chairs and a pedestal base, but elbow room and serving space will be more limited.
Because base style and chair width affect seating capacity, always check the specifications on the individual product page.
A pedestal base provides more open legroom and makes it easier to reposition chairs or add an occasional extra seat. It is a practical choice when seating flexibility matters.
Four-leg tables offer a classic look, but the legs may limit chair placement. Check the distance between the legs against your chair width before ordering.

For everyday dining for two, 30–32 inches in diameter is a practical starting point. Smaller 24–28-inch tables are better suited to coffee, drinks, or light meals and may feel crowded once plates and serving dishes are added.
Tribesigns offers several 31.5-inch round dining tables designed for two people or compact occasional seating for up to four.
A 42–48-inch round table generally gives four adults a comfortable amount of dining and elbow space. A 36–40-inch table can work in a smaller apartment or breakfast area, but it will feel more compact, especially with wide or upholstered chairs.
