Furniture Care & Maintenance

Wooden Furniture

Sun Damage

To avoid marks or rings appearing on your wooden furniture, we recommend avoiding leaving items on the surfaces for the first 6-8 weeks if exposed to sunlight.

Cleaning

To clean wooden furniture, use a damp cloth (not soaking wet) and dry the surfaces thoroughly afterwards. Avoid liquids as they can damage both wood and veneer. In case of stains, use mild soap and warm water and go gently.

Leather Furniture

Sun and Heat Damage

Leather furniture can lighten when exposed to direct sunlight, so place it in a location that avoids direct exposure. Avoid exposing leather to heat as it can cause damage.

Cleaning

To clean leather furniture, use a soft, dry cloth or a cloth and soapy water. Clean regularly with a leather cleaner to maintain its appearance.

Upholstered Furniture

Sun Damage

Upholstered furniture may lighten over time if exposed to direct sunlight, so choose a location that avoids direct exposure.

Wear

To maintain the appearance of seat cushions, turn them regularly and give foam, feather, or fiber-filled cushions a shake as often as possible.

Feet

Make sure the feet on your chairs or sofas are tightly fastened and avoid dragging to prevent damage to the feet or floor.

Marble Furniture

Liquid Damage

Marble is a natural stone that should only be cleaned with a neutral pH cleaning solution. Spilled liquids, like coffee, oil, and acidic materials can damage marble. To avoid water rings, use coasters or cupware that does not produce condensation. For food or plants, use a doily, coaster, or placemat.

Cleaning

For everyday cleaning, use a dry soft cloth, duster, or similar. For a deeper clean, use a damp cloth (not soaking wet) and a very gentle pH-neutral cleanser like diluted dishwashing liquid. After cleaning, use a dry soft cloth to wipe away any excess water droplets to avoid streaks and ensure all moisture is removed from the marble top.
